Every Year for the past 18 years, the Ridge Woodcarvers' Club in Lakeland, Florida has been sponsoring a woodcarving show and competition.  Through these shows and competitions the Ridge Woodcarvers are promoting the art of wood carving by

a. showing appreciation for the work of the skilled woodcarvers by providing them the opportunity to compete and receive awards for their woodcarvings;

b. encouraging those who do not carve to learn the art of woodcarving so that they too may enjoy this rewarding hobby; and

c. providing the public the opportunity to admire and purchase woodcarvings that can provide them a lifetime of enjoyment.
